John M. Airy Beef Cattle Symposium
John M. Airy is a person of vision and accomplishments, both in the seed corn business and improvements of beef cattle management practices and genetics. Two symposiums have been held in the John M. Airy Symposium Series — one in 2003 and again in 2006.
The Department of Animal Science at Iowa State University has provided over a century of education and innovation in support of the animal industry. To continue this tradition, a John M. Airy Beef Cattle Symposium was first held in 2003 to address breeding and genetics. Then, in 2006, the John M. Airy Beef Cattle Symposium " Visions for Animal Agriculture and the Environment" was held to provide a forum for discussing the future challenges and solutions that the livestock industry must address with research.
Proceedings from 2006 are available online. Online proceedings for 2003 are currently unavailable; however, information about the symposium, including the speakers and names of their presentations, is available.
