Creating a geographically linked brand for

high-quality beef

 

Worldwide, there is a segment of consumers that can afford to pay substantial price premiums for high-quality agricultural produts. Meanwhile, many U.S. farmers who are producing these products are not using market mechanisms that allow them to take the most advantage of price premiums. The Iowa Beef Center helped conduct a case study looking at a pilot program that was developed to commercialize an origin-based collective brand for high-quality beef.
