About the software
There’s no question about the benefits of estrus synchronization in a beef herd. However, navigating the many programs and options that come with estrus synchronization can become an overwhelming and frustrating experience.

The Iowa Beef Center at Iowa State University and the North Central Region Bovine Reproduction Task Force are pleased to offer this Microsoft® Excel spreadsheet program to assist herd managers in making the right management decisions and establishing a program calendar for each day and each task.

The Estrus Synchronization Planner works with your program to:

    • Assist with the challenge of planning and implementing some of the more complicated synchronization systems.
    • Eliminate errors in the timing of injections, starting and ending the feeding of MGA, CIDR insertions, etc.
    • Help to optimize labor use.
    • Allow you to analyze and compare input costs of several synchronization systems.
